Luisa Plata only female surgeon of “CX3”
She operates with man eyes
Luisa Plata is the only surgeon who got to be in the group of eight surgeons on the program “CX3” (Extreme Change, third season) on RCN Channel.
Besides her experience- it has been five years since she has been working as an independent surgeon -, she convinced the channel that to operate women you have to have man eyes and to men you have to take into account the male beauty parameters that exist.
“I know what is having extra fat in some parts of the body, cellulitis or have a visible scar when you wear small underwear. I know how it feels. Because of this reason more that a surgeon, I become friends with the women who register in this program. I look at them with man eyes and try to discover what is what make them feel so bad”. She says.
“The stories are dramatic and I do my best to do not damage their skin, take care of the abdominal marks, and leave the scar really hidden”, she adds.
For men is different. The surgeon bases her work on male beauty parameters and applies them to all men. “I do not like a wan who has waist, so I do not operate it. I do not like the upper pectorals on men and I do not do it even though they insist. With men I imagine how I would like to see them”, she says.
However, Dr. Plata has got three surgeries in her body (breast, liposuction on her hip, and nose). She assures that this more than aesthetic, it is about self-esteem.
“Everything is in you. The external part is important, but it values more to discover and work on your weaknesses. This is what this program is about. Besides changing the appearances of the participants, we work on their self-esteem. When we achieved that, the person feels better, is a better worker and he or she feels so good that is the inspiration for his or her love mate”.
For her, the surgeries are a tool, but they can’t end up being an obsession. She assures that perfect beauty does not exist and everything is about harmony. “This comes from inside. There are beautiful women but they lack essence and naturalness … and even if they have the perfect shape they do not look attractive. Everything is about an inner work”. Dr. Plata assures.
